Technology Up Date

Things are going really well. The teachers are very excited about using their available technology in class. I have had the opportunity to make appointments, observe teachers, and visit teachers. Teacher visits have been very successful. Every chance I get, I talk to the teachers about technology.

Download Software

Today was very exciting for me. I met a lot of new people. I also helped someone learn how to download software for the smart table. The smart table is a remarkable piece of technology. The teachers can create lessons that allow the students to match images with vocabulary terms. There are math options like adding and subtracting also. It is really awesome.

Tecnology --- 50 Years From Now

One could only image what things will be like fifty years from now.  Kids will probably carry video recorder classes on something more advanced than the IPad and with the touch of a button they will be attentively learning.  Companies will be high tech.  Since we have voice activated texting, physically typing something could be a task of the past.  Technology changes constantly, and it does not take long for equipment to become obsolete.  Video teleconferencing, video tutorials, homework and classwork digitally transported from the student to the teacher and from the teacher to the student.  Who knows...only in time we will know.

Second day of TeachUp! Training

Today, I had a wonderful experience. In the training, we were involved in some challenging activities. The day began by finishing the activity from Monday. After the activity, we did a power point activity. My group presented the power point activity to my colleagues and instructors. It was wonderful. I love speaking before others. So, I was not nervous at all. Our instructors are great. They love what they do as well as love share the information with others. When working on the movie activity, there were some difficulties. We over came. Tomorrow will be a new day with detail information about other technologies. The best thing about my training is that we learn beyond the surface of the technology. There is so much that can be done with a computer or lap top when you have the Internet, Podcast, Movie Maker, Google Earth, and all the other technologies discussed in the TeachU! Training.

First Day of TeachUp! Training

Today was very interesting.  In the TeachUp! training, I learned about podcasting.  Podcasting can be very rewarding.  If used in the classroom, students can experience what news casters, and others that have to prepare to speak to millions of people.  In the classroom ELL users could work on their English.  Teachers could create a project that involve the students acting as radio announcers.  There are a lot of possibilities.  Other interesting technology tools discussed in the training were blogging and googling.  I mention googling because there it a lot more to googling than using a search engine.  There was a lot of information that could produce rewarding results when utilized.
My group blog entry about expectations.
